Quail Hunting Dogs
Quail hunting can be a very exciting and entertaining adventure but as most of you know quails are very fast and clever animals so hunting them can be very difficult. With a little help from your dog you might end up catching a few of these animals. Here is a list of the most popular dogs used for quail hunting:
American Water Spaniel - The American Water Spaniel has a crisp-textured, tightly cured coat lined with a protective undercoat. The coat colors can be liver/chocolate and sometimes the dogs can have a small white spot on their chest. The dog has a medium-length muzzle that is smooth and square. Beagle - This is a sturdy and squarely-built hardy small hound that has an easy-care and sleek short coat. The coat can come in any hound color, for example: tri-color, black & tan, red & white, orange & white or lemon & white. The Beagle is similar in appearance with the English Foxhound. The dog’s muzzle is square and straight and the skull is broad and a bit rounded. The Beagle hound has wide ears that are pendant. Native American Indian Dog - This breed is very rare with risks of extinction; it was used by the native Americans to pack a backpack filled with family possessions and to pull travois. Curly-Coated Retriever - The Curly-Coated Retriever is a large breed, an athletic retriever that has a distinctive crisp curly coat that is thick and comes in a black or a live-colored shade. The coat protects the dog from icy waters and brambles. The dog’s little curs can be found even on the small-sized ears, the neck, the tail and the back of the head; only the front of the legs, face and hocks are smooth. Wirehaired Pointing Griffon - The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is a strong and graceful hunting dog. It is a medium-sized rough-coated dog with a large and long head along with a square muzzle and bushy eyebrows. The dog’s neck is quite long, without dewlap and a skull that is the same length from the stop to the occiput as it is from the nose to the stop. Perdiguero De Burgos - The Perdiguero De Burgos is not as heavily built as it looks but it has muscular shoulders. The dog has a lot of skin which comes from being in a close relationship with the more famous Sabueso Espanol. The dog’s chest is deep and broad while the head is square-shaped with a moderately defined stop. The dog has a long muzzle that is very broad and square-shaped.
