Kisatchie National Forest and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is giving false information about deer hunting with dogs on Kistachie National Forest land.
First, I will start with safety issues. The finger should be pointing toward the Law Enforcement Divisions of both Kistachie and the LDWF. When these law enforcement officials would see someone parking on the side of the road to exit their vehicle and get in the woods to take a stand, they would speed and recklessly drive up to the hunters, sliding their tires and jumping out like they were chasing a bank robber.
Second, I want to talk about complaints from land owners. These complaints can easily be viewed as negative, and by that I mean that these complaints are generally not legitimate complaints.
If a disgruntled land owner wants to wreak havoc on deer hunters, all they have to do is make multiple complaints, that do not have to result in a violation ticket. If research would be done on this issue, how many complaints actually resulted in a ticket violation? The result is deer hunters get all of these complaints that Kisatchie and LDWF use as their ammunition as “Complaints”, once again whether the complaint is legitimate or not, it is still recorded as a complaint.
The whole issue is that Kisatchie and LDWF wants to eliminate deer hunting with dogs on Kisatchie land. They have been trying to accomplish this for several years now, and have already managed to close some sections of Kisatchie land, which has cause two issues: first, some of these deer hunters using dogs completely quit all hunting, and second, the hunters that continued to hunt with dogs are now congregating on smaller portions of Kisatchie land because of the closures of other Kisatchie lands.
This elimination of deer hunting with dogs is a personal agenda by certain persons within Kisatchie and LDWF. If they are able to accomplish this personal agenda, other will arise that they will take away later, then another, then another. Their goal is to have no hunting in Kisatchie.
